About
A practice built on measurement, not mystique
Vastu is often sold as something you have to take on faith. It should not be. Direction can be measured, a building can be checked against a set of rules, and a consultant should be able to tell you what each remedy is meant to change.
How we approach a building
Every reading starts from the outside and works in. The plot and its surroundings — the slope of the land, the roads that approach it, what sits to the north-east and what sits to the south-west — set the conditions that every room inside then inherits. Diagnosing a bedroom without having read the plot is guesswork.
Inside, measurements are taken with a compass, at the site, on the day. Those readings go into tools developed over decades of practice — dowsing charts, bar charts, graphs and grading tables — so that the analysis is systematic rather than impressionistic. Two consultants working from the same measurements should reach the same conclusions.
What this practice will not do
It will not recommend demolition as a first resort. It will not promise you a timeline for results, because nobody honestly can. It will not substitute for a doctor, a lawyer, a structural engineer or a financial adviser, and it will tell you plainly when one of those is what you actually need.
What it will do is give you a written report, in the order you should act on it, with a note on what each change is meant to shift — and then stay available for a year while you implement it.
The Vastu Purusha Mandala — the nine-by-nine grid that underlies the discipline, with the Brahmasthan left open at the centre.

The framework
Five elements, five directions
Read together, these amount to a coherent set of instructions. Most of what happens on site is checking a building against them and finding where it disagrees.
North-east
Jal — water
Flow, clarity and renewal. Why the north-east should stay light and open, and why a toilet or a heavy store in that corner causes such consistent trouble.
South-east
Agni — fire
Transformation and energy. The kitchen platform, the boiler, the electrical panel — anything that generates heat has a natural home here.
South-west
Prithvi — earth
Stability and weight. Heavy furniture, safes, stored goods and the master bedroom. A building should be heaviest where it needs to be most stable.
North-west
Vayu — air
Movement and circulation. Guest rooms, dispatch, and anything meant to come and go rather than accumulate.
Centre
Aakash — space
The Brahmasthan. The one element defined by absence: the centre of a building should stay open and unburdened, and its effects are felt everywhere at once.
